Cleaning the back metal on a madcatz TE stick?

Hi all - i'm sure a number of you who have had your TE sticks for 6+ years can sympathize with me on this. Over the years of gaming on my lap and on various surfaces, the back metal plate on my stick has gotten quite grimy.

Any tips/tricks on preferred cleaning method? Open to any and all suggestions.
