Does anyone here do the CPS3 battery swap or battery mod?

I bought a Street Fighter III Third Strike CPS3 kit that had a new battery in 2011. I understand that the battery needs to be swapped every 4-5 years. I remember reading about a mod that allows swapping the battery easily. Does anybody on this forum perform this mod? Can you point me in the right direction?
